TransCanada announcement in May

March 28, 2008

KTUU:

The Legislature will convene in special session June 3 to consider the future of the natural gas pipeline.

Gov. Palin said her administration will release its findings on the sole gas line applicant, TransCanada, during the week of May 19.

Young, who has won 18 times as Alaska’s lone congressman, says his seniority is what counts. “A 35-year head start,” Parnell called it.

Parnell immediately got the backing of Gov. Sarah Palin, whose husband, parents and siblings were part of a cheering group gathered outside of the state Division of Elections for Parnell’s news conference on entering the race.”

Certificate of need bill pits hospitals against ’boutique’ clinics

March 14, 2008

Alaska Journal:

Proposed legislation to repeal the state’s certificate of need program for equipment in major health care facilities is being eyed cautiously by many facility representatives who feel the program is key to the financial stability of community hospitals.
